Good news and bad news from Nemonymous: the bad news being that my story won't be included in the next anthology. Bah: but I still take consolation in being short-listed, and I had enormous fun writing two good pieces for this.
The good news is that my previous Nemonymous story, "The Point of Oswald Masters", has been long-listed on the voting form for the British Fantasy Society Awards 2009 in the short fiction category. So have 32 others, as well as a space for "other", so I'm not writing my acceptance speech just yet.
Other candidates include Stephen King, Storm Constantine and Juliet E McKenna. I really don't know what to make of this - I certainly didn't see it coming.

Congrats on the longlisting! That's excellent -- and well deserved.

Oh, I dunno, a dose of insufferability every now and then is good for a chap, I always feel. So I keep telling Pam, anyway.

Same here, by the way. Perhaps we should launch an anthology of Des's Nemonymous 9 rejects . . .

Just wait 'til he gets all the reviews saying, "It's a pity that this time around Lewis wasn't able to get any stories from the likes of Hudson and Grant . . ."
That'll teach him.
